Walking in the Old Town of Warsaw you may get to the Krakowskie Przedmiescie street that goes from the Castle square along the Presidential Palace (Pałac Prezydencki or Pałac Namiestnikowski). This palace was built in 1643 and then it was rebuilt a few times. Also the owners of the palace were changed several times during the time. Its government purpose started in 1818. Construction of the present-day Presidential Palace in Warsaw was begun in 1643 by Crown Great Hetman Stanisław Koniecpolski.

Palace of Ministers of the Treasury (Pałac Ministrów Skarbu) is located in Plac Bankowy in Warsaw. This building was built during 1825−1830. This palace belonged to the family of Ogiński. In September 1939, the building was bombed and burned . It was rebuilt in the years 1950-1954 under the direction of Peter Biegański. Today it serves as office for the Warsaw city administration.
In front of the palace you can see the Monument of Juliusz Slowacki, one of the famous Polish poet.
