One of the preserved buildings of Josefov is the Old New Synagogue (Staronová synagoga). This synagogue is the oldest active synagogue in Europe. It was built in year 1270 in Gothic style. The Old-New Synagogue is the main house of prayer of Prague’s Jews today.
This synagogue was called the New Synagogue or the Great Synagogue. And after the newer synagogue was built the older synagogue became the Old-New Synagogue.
There is a legend that the Golem’s body lies in the attic of this Synagogue.
Right near the Old-New Synagogue you may see the statue of Mosses.
