Perissa is a village located on the south-east coast of Santorini. It is famous by its long black beach. The beach of Perissa consists of volcanic black sand that is very attractive although it is very hot under the sun.
You may get to this black beach taking a bus in Fira. The road will take about 30 minutes and cost about 2 euro/person.
One of the side of Perissa beach is blocked with the mountain of Mesa-Vouno that creates a nice view.
The coast of Perissa is full of restaurants. Another noticeable object is the Church-of-Timiou-Stavrou that is one of the largest churches on Santorini island. The original church was built in 1840 but then was destroyed by the earthquake of 1956 and then was rebuilt.
