This weekend we had an out-city party with quest, music, fire show and lot of fun. This is a sequential quest that happens every year in September. Although the situation in Ukraine is difficult and many of us try to help as much a possible the party was conducted.
Here is the photo of the team of 2014. The name of the team was “Svyatye ugodniki” (Holly people of God) (there is nothing about religion :-) ).
As every year in our company, we have a contest for the best decoration of the room. This year we didn’t have much time to play with this as our workload is about maximum but we have presented our idea anyway.
The great thank you for our designer Sasha who mostly managed this project and all other guys who found time and participate this contest and put something from themselves. We do not suppose to win but the most important thing is that we are the team that works together, have a rest together and participate in any challenge together as well. This is the most valuable part of such contests – to connect team members not only by their work but something else. So, my great thank you to all of you guys!
The concept of our decoration is a gondola that sails in another reality but it is connected with ours in only one point of the time and space – New Year time and New Year tree. Also we can consider this as an art of equilibration as the gondola stands on its small New Year tree that itself stands on the bigger New Year tree.
Yesterday we have a meeting with developers using WordPress in their work or life as it was 10th anniversary of the first WordPress release! There were 719 WordPress 10th Anniversary communities around the world and we were the one of them. We have organized a small community in Kharkiv to meet and celebrate the event.
Our group was small but I’m happy to say that some people whom we didn’t know before came to celebrate the event with us. Great to have new contacts and improve our WordPress experience.
The New Year party has gone and the work days have been started. But I’d like to say a few words about the party..
This year we had a great party in retro style of “Stilyahi” (“Стиляги”). This style is from 1940-1960th years when the group of people was trying to make their life brighter. They were persecuted by USSR government as their behavior was not inline with the communist’s propaganda. Those people were wearing bright costumes and liked to listen jazz music.
Today is Halloween. This is not our national holiday at all :) but as we work with many guys who celebrate this we have started to do that too. Our office is decorated to this holiday. And it is very cool if you know that the view from the window is on a cemetery.
We can enjoy these nice decorations thanks to the girls from our PR department. Thanks girls!!
