My grandfather, Vitaliy Shymko, was an artist. He died in 1988. And I’m searching for his works through his friends, relatives, different offices where they can be stored now. There are not much left in the family. Being at my home town I found more paintings by my grandfather, Vitaliy Shymko. They are not in good condition but they are still good memory of the grandfather.
This painting was never finished but supposed to be an icon for the local church. Hope once I will finish this instead of my grandfather..

Shymko V – Morning in a Pine Forest
This painting was a present to my grandfather’s (Vitaliy Shymko) friend. It was presented in 1960. This is an oil painting.
In this post I’d like to share another photo-copies of painting of my grandfather Vitaliy Shymko. These painting are owned by my family but I will search for others that found there places in other houses. We do not have a right to forget our roots. I hope someone will like these works and I’m happy to share these works with those who can be interested.
I’d like to share some works of my grandfather, Vitaliy Shymko, who died 24 years ago but left a good memory with all who knew him. He was a great master of painting, sketching, sculpture and work with stone. Unfortunately, I do not have a lot of his works.. They all were presented to someones.. At the time of Soviet Union he didn’t have a chance to sell his works but he was able to present them to politics and big factories directors. So, my family owns a very few of his paints.. As for me, I’m proud to have 2 of his paintings that are my present from my grandmother who is the keeper of grandfather’s works and memory.
In this post I want to show a portrait of my grandfather and 2 of paintings I own. These paintings were created more than 25 years ago.
Vitaliy Shymko – Sunset
